Prosthesis is a method that is not preferred in dental applications and is applied as a last resort. It is aimed to correct the damaged area in the tooth. If this is not possible, prosthesis is applied. There are two types of prostheses. These are;
Removable Denture
This type of prosthesis is used by patients who have lost most or all of their teeth. While it is an advantage for some patients, it is a big problem for others. Since we are used to seeing it in the elderly, there is a perception that only older people use it. However, this is a misconception. People who lost all their teeth at a young age are also not at a level to be underestimated.
Removable prostheses are also divided into 5 sections.

Full Dentures
Its common name is artificial teeth. It is applied if the patient has lost all of his teeth. It can be easily attached and removed. Hard, small seeds (figs, strawberries, etc.), sticky (gum) foods are not suitable for this prosthesis. Cleaning these artificial teeth is very important. Daily removal and washing is a must.
The construction phase is also quite long. Since all teeth are measured and prepared, they are checked and tested several times.
Precision Holder
Also known as snap prosthesis. The greatest convenience of this type of coating is the absence of hooks. In the past, support was provided only by attaching to the back teeth, but now it is applied even to the front teeth without this. Precision retaining dentures are applied to patients with partial tooth loss. Like other crowns, this involves daily removal and cleaning.

Above Implant Removable Prosthesis
This prosthesis is also applied to patients who experience all tooth loss. The difference is;
An artificial tooth is created thanks to the implant (titanium screw) placed in the jawbone. Up to 4 implants can be placed according to the requirement. The artificial tooth, which is placed on the bone, takes on the role of prosthesis retention. A solid and more pleasant appearance is obtained.
Section (Hooked) Prosthesis
In cases where most of the teeth are lost, it is the process of attaching the natural teeth by means of hooks called crochet.
Since it is connected with the natural tooth, it is in a better condition than other removable teeth.
Coating Construction Stages
Measurement
In the first session, the gingiva is checked and the measurement is performed with the measuring spoon.
Model Preparation
The measurements taken are in the preparation phase. Considering your jaw structure, the tooth is shaped into a three-dimensional mold.
Smile Line, Height and Line Determination
The smile line and height of the teeth are adjusted according to the jaw structure and the shape becomes clear.
Dental Rehearsal
The final form of the tooth is given and a rehearsal is made on the patient. It is examined from every aspect such as its appearance, height, missing parts, excesses, and fit on the tooth. If there are problems, they are eliminated and the final shape is given.
Finishing
After the deficiencies are corrected, it becomes ready for the team. It is now ready to use.
